Welcome to Fredericton Jewish Community

Welcome to the Fredericton Jewish community, a well established community in the Orthodox tradition since 1896. It’s Sgoolai Israel Synagogue and Jewish Centre is located in downtown Fredericton, New Brunswick. This warm and friendly community currently consists of about fifty families and is an integral part of the greater Fredericton community, having contributed in large part over the years to the local business, educational and arts communities. In recent years, we have welcomed new immigrants to our community and have helped them adjust to their new home.

Traditional Askenazic Orthodox Shabbat services are held each Friday evening(5:30PM) and Saturday morning (9:30AM) led by Rabbi Yosef Goldman. We have a viable chedar program for our children Sunday through Thursday. As well, group and/or tutorial adult educational classes are available in religion/prayer, halacha, Hebrew and biblical history.

The Synagogue has both an active Board and Sisterhood group who maintain the operations and activities of the Synagogue. We also have ties to B’nai Brith and World Wizo(Women’s International Zionist Organization).
